Business Roundtable, an association of chief executive officers of leading U.S. companies, recognized New Teacher Center as one of five outstanding K-12 education programs that have demonstrated a strong potential for helping prepare more U.S. K-12 students for college and the workplace. In addition to New Teacher Center, the Roundtable will work with ST Math, Success for All, the National Math and Science Initiative’s UTeach program and the NISL's Executive Development Program for School Leaders to help scale up their efforts.

These programs were selected from a deep pool of nearly 100 applicants and after a rigorous six-month undertaking based in part on Design Principles for Effective Philanthropy created by Change the Equation, a coalition of U.S. CEOs committed to improving education in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). Programs were required to meet a stringent set of criteria to prove their effectiveness and capacity for being expanded.
