NTC Updates

The U.S. Department of Education published a guest blog post about what NTC has learned in the first year of its federal i3 grant to expand the work of improving student achievement by accelerating the effectiveness of new teachers in Chicago Public Schools, Broward County Public Schools, and Grant Wood Area Education Agency, a consortium of school districts in Iowa. NTC was selected to contribute this post based on its promising approach to measuring impact, and their overall success this first year.

The post, by New Teacher Center Senior Vice President for Induction Programs Cynthia Brunswick and Chief External Affairs Officer Eric Hirsch, describes how the organization is validating its model in a variety of contexts -- across large urban and small rural districts, and how the grant has acted as a platform for NTC to fully analyze and focus on the “New Teacher Center model.” As the organization plans to triple the number of new teachers it reaches within the next three years, this blog articulates more about the results the i3 work has produced during its first year of implementation.
