This four-day professional development program is designed for induction program leadership teams that are about to implement a new induction program or who are looking to enhance their current programs. The program presents components of the New Teacher Center's Induction Model.

Buildng the capacity of leadership teams and fostering a culture of learning, the Institute supports educators who are responsible for developing and implementing policies and programs that support beginning teachers and for those who oversee and conduct professional development for mentors who work with beginning teachers. The Institute is guided by the core belief that learning to teach is a career-long developmental process and requires strong mentors and leaders to impact a supportive, effective teaching environment.

Participating teams will deepen their knowledge and skills that enhance their capacity to:

  • Refine and implement a comprehensive model of teacher induction focused on accelerating new teacher effectiveness and improving student learning
  • Incorporate formative assessment into all levels of program implementation
